Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Her first job for ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at when she was nine years old. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as an investigative reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. In addition, she was frequently asked to serve as a sports or weather anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given greater responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She worked in the same job for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were born in Veracruz Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. After a short time, her father divorced from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. It was during a summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta who was in high school having a clear idea of where she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University to determine what she could get out of the college. It turned out that she loved the school and the university offered the degree she was searching for. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the college. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for many years, became her friend. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence inspired her. She, in turn attempted to live up to his expectations and never fail him.
